Step 1
Get all of your financial paper work together. This should include all of your outstanding bills as well as your income statements. Ever debt counselor will need these to evaluate your situation. Don't be embarrassed, I guarantee they have seen worse.

Step 2
Contact the Consumer Credit Counselling Service. They are a full debt help service that's open from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. The CCC offers a great Debt Remedy service. You can call their help line at 800 138 1111 to speak to a Debt Counselor for free.

Step 3
Visit the National Debtline website.
They offer free debt help and debt solutions to countries all over the world. National Debtline is a non profit debt management that provides free debt advice to individuals as well and private businesses. You can either email them directly through their web site or call their 800 number and speak to a live representative.

Step 4
Visit your local Citizens Advice Bureau. On their web site they have a locator feature which will help you find the CAB location nearest to you. The hours of operation vary from branch to branch.
